We spent most of yesterday in Kaiser. I am having invasive surgery of my spine on Thursday. As in the trial, wires will be placed along side of my spinal nerves. This time they will be placed by vision, not sub Q, fixed onto the spine, so that they will work as well as the trial, and will stay in place for as nearly always as anything can be. I'll be in the hospital for at least on day, maybe more. Then for one month, no lifting above #5, no putting my arms above my head. No driving for a while. I chose to have the long lasting battery that can be changed under local when it dies. I chose not to have the device that needs a charging every month or two. I found out yesterday that they could have placed the permanent wire directly over the temp wires. No one told me that when it could have been done.
The house sitter worked out very well. Nikki is very happy, the birds are not too neurotic after being in their cages for a week. We also had a dog walker come in at lunch every day. He got more attention when we were away than when we are home.
