I thought that once the patio was done, we could stop and enjoy it. Wrong! We spent all day looking at patio furniture. Wal mart, Lowe's, home depot, patio world. Will it never end? We found the exact chairs for around the new table, coming in the mail, but they were part of a 5 piece set, not sold individually. So at the end of the day, although tired, no new furniture had been bought.
We went to a wine tasting party 2 days ago. Picture below.
Me at a wine tasting party is like a blind man at a silent movie.
I some times see double, but this is triple:

The construction is nearly finished. Just some more touch up to the brick wall. Here are some pictures.
Here is Jamie the head of construction, bringing in cement.
The front patio extension.
Rubie's play pen and the back concrete pour.
The back hard scape with new extension.
New patio with rug and umbrella.
New concrete attached to the old patio.
Rear view of our property.
And finally:
We are really happy with all of the new work. It increases our hard scape for more seating and tables. Y'all come done and visit us.

Wonderful sunshine, the work on the driveway is moving on nicely. We expect to be finished on Saturday.
Had a wonderful birthday party for Hal yesterday, at a very good Italian restaurant. Just down the street from our resort. Got to see Martha and Don. She is now on medical cannabis for her intense foot pain. After surgery times two.
She reports great pain relief. Worth a try?

It is all going very well. They started digging up the yard, to make improvements, more space and more privacy. The weather is now wonderful. We have been spending a lot of quality time with S and L. No complaints at all. Isn't that amazing?
Me reflected in the bar b cue.
One of our feeders.

It is interesting how quickly we have gone from one life, to another. Most of the garden supplies are out, we went to Costco, Barnes and Noble, and a garden shop, and a health food store, and then to an excellent Mexican restaurant, then finished at Food 4 less to get Mexican style rice pudding. Got home intime to walk Nickki. Spent a half hour in a cactus garden, got a few small cactei. Just a typical day in the desert.
The weather is slowly getting better. Today we had mild sandstorm, but better than rain. Still have not had the car top off yet.
Had a long talk with Larry, and got up to date info.
We filed the the paper work to improve our lot, some brick, some more hard-scape. It should be nice. We have spent a lot of time with S. and L. Great to be with them again. When ever we have mechanical problems, first call S., then usually don't need to all a professional.

After 1,000 for the r.v., after a flooded basement, after 2400 to dry the basement. After 2.000 to dig a trench to let any new water pour into one of our 3 sump pump, after paying a few hundred to dig out and get rid of the wet carpet and linoleum, after Claudia spending several days or more in bed because of a back injury, after snow and high winds on the highway getting here, having to take the long way around to avoid that highway, we finally got here on New Years Eve, And arrived in time for rain, wind, and cold air, worrying about frost on our cactus down here. We did minimal hook ups and went to bed.
Today was the first sunny day we have had in about 10 days.
The birds are still settling into their ity bitty cages. Rudy is sleeping under the gas pedal and seems to love it there. Nickki is having to deal with walking with a leash all of the time. At home he is much too good to need one.
We did our first bike ride today. Claudia has been walking much more than I have. I got into the swimming pool today, my new M.D. wants me to swim, but although the pool is heated, it was still too cold to go further than waist high, then I ran to the hot tub. Nice 2 get hot and into the shower quickly and not too, too cold.
Tonight is my first experience with Bingo. Wish me luck.
Addendum; Lynnette and Steve each won a bingo. Claudia and I gave our money for the winners. About as exciting as a root canal.
